Physie Girls

Physie performance starts long before you step on the floor.

Constant fatigue, gut issues, skin flare-ups, intense performance nerves or slow recovery aren’t “just part of physie.” They’re signs your nervous system, digestion and nutrient foundations need support so your body can cope with practice, competition and recovery more sustainably.

Here’s what women like YOU say to me each day in clinic

“I practice consistently, but I’m constantly exhausted, not only after classes and competitions, but in every day life.”

“I am taking my iron supplements routinely, because I am iron deficient, but I still feel tired all the time

“My gut feels unpredictable - I’m bloated, uncomfortable, or swinging between constipation and diarrhoea, especially during competition time.

“Everything feels harder during physie season. My skin, energy and focus all struggle

“I put alot of pressure on myself and feel disappointed when I’m not ‘good enough’”

“I feel wired, anxious and overwhelmed around competition time, then completely drained afterwards.”

“I keep pushing through because everyone else seems to be coping.”

If this sounds familiar, know that you are not alone!

I’VE BEEN THERE

I have been doing Physie since I was 5. My journey revolved around making nationals every year, but despite my dedication, I often felt let down by my own body. Fatigue would hit in the worst moments, my confidence wavered under constant comparison, and I struggled with body image issues that no one really acknowledged. Being told to “suck in my tummy” while marching left a bigger impact than I realised at the time.

Physie has shaped me, challenged me, and given me incredible memories and friends for LIFE. But I believe it’s time for a shift in physie culture. Now, I use my experience as a lifelong physie girl, combined with my practice as a naturopath, to support other physie girls in balancing practice, recovery, and wellbeing, so they can perform at their best without burning out.

I want every physie girl to feel confident in her body, energised for practice each week, and supported every step of the way.

The Physie Foundations Package

A supportive, performance-focused approach

Supporting physie girls isn’t about pushing harder or following rigid protocols. It’s about understanding what your body needs to practice, perform and recover well - without burnout. My approach is personalised, collaborative and designed to support performance while protecting long-term health.

  • We start by getting the full picture of you and your physie demands:

    • Review training load, competitions, nutrition, sleep, stress, and mental wellbeing

    • Check gut health (symptoms, diet, digestion patterns)

    • Assess energy levels and recovery

    • Optional bloodwork (iron, B12, vitamin D, magnesium, and more, if it adds value)

Investigations/bloodwork are only recommended when they add value, never “just because”.

  • Once we know where your body is at, we tailor a plan that strengthens your foundations:

    • Nutrition strategies for training, competitions, and recovery

    • Evidence-informed supplement guidance (if needed)

    • Lifestyle support: sleep, recovery, and stress management

    • Nervous system regulation strategies: breathing, grounding, micro-breaks

  • With strong foundations in place, we focus on performance and recovery:

    • Support stamina, focus, and consistency during training and competitions

    • Improve recovery between sessions

    • Reduce flare-ups of gut, skin, or energy symptoms

    • Build confidence in fuelling and recovery strategies

  • Finally, we create a sustainable plan so you can stay well, consistent, and resilient as training and competition intensity ramps up.

    • The goal is long-term sustainability, not just “getting through the season”

    • Continue to adjust nutrition, recovery, and lifestyle strategies as demands increase

Why physie girls are especially vulnerable to burnout

High practice loads, busy schedules and performance pressure increase the body’s need for fuel, nutrients and recovery. When these needs aren’t adequately met, nutrient stores such as iron, B vitamins and magnesium can gradually decline, affecting energy, concentration and resilience. Fatigue is often normalised and pushed through, while underlying stress, nervous system overload, gut issues or mental health concerns may go unrecognised. Over time, this constant state of demand without sufficient recovery places significant strain on the body and nervous system, increasing the risk of exhaustion and burnout.

Even the most dedicated physie girls can begin to feel the effects when these needs go unmet, despite practicing well and doing their best to keep up.

My role is to support physie girls in feeling strong, fuelled and confident in their bodies, so health becomes an advantage, not another pressure.

The Adore Difference

If you tell me you’re iron deficient (for example), I’m not just going to hand you a supplement and say “good luck,” knowing it might upset your gut, make your stool black, and still not address the real issue. I work with you to understand why you’re deficient in the first place, is it truly iron deficiency causing your fatigue, or is it coming from thyroid, gut, or adrenal issues? (A key indicator - if you’re fatigued after exercise, its iron - if not, its not)

Every body is different, and especially in physie, you’d be surprised at how many factors can affect your performance and how you feel on the floor. Your support isn’t cookie-cutter - it’s personalised to you, your training, and your lifestyle.

We target the root cause so your body gets the oxygen and energy it needs when it matters most, and so you don’t become iron deficient again. That’s the Adore difference: sustainable, personalised support that actually works for your body, your performance, and your life.
